Job Description

WaterBrook Children’s, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books, seeks a Publishing Assistant to join the team. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Publishing Assistant to be an essential member of the Publishing team, supporting the Publishing Director and helping plan the division’s publishing programs.

This position offers a unique perspective on WaterBrook Children's strategy and operations, where we publish a diverse list of thoughtfully written and produced books in the Christian children’s space. Our list includes award winners and bestsellers across both the faith and general markets. We publish books for children ages 0 to 18 in a wide variety of formats—from board books and picture books to middle-grade and young adult novels to devotionals, illustrated Bible storybooks, and graphic novels. Authors on our list include Andrew Peterson, Lisa Tawn Bergren, Mitali Perkins, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Tim Tebow, Jordan Raynor, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

As the Publishing Assistant, you will be part of a fun and fast-paced group. You'll meet and work closely with many colleagues in other departments within the division, especially Editorial, Art, Marketing, and Publicity. The role is ideal for someone who loves reading, is a detail-focused self-starter, and is a strong communicator, organizer, and multi-tasker.
