Job Description

The Production Editor will oversee scheduling, trafficking, and production editorial work for approximately 45–60 titles per year across imprints publishing picture books, middle-grade and teen fiction and nonfiction, and graphic novels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage production editorial schedules and workflow to ensure quality and timely publication
  • Copyedit and proofread materials, maintaining accuracy and consistency
  • Assign and supervise freelance copyeditors and proofreaders

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of book production editorial experience
  • Strong copyediting, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple titles and competing deadlines
  • Experience supervising freelancers
  • Strong Mac and Adobe InDesign skills
