Job Description

Director, Finance (HarperCollins Publishers, LLC; New York, NY): Support the SVP of Finance and the CEO of the International Division in developing financial analysis strategies.

Assist in the monthly financial close: accurately analyze results, including variance analysis, in a timely manner. Provide ad hoc analysis of publishing and business trends. Assemble and summarize data, prepare reports, create presentations of findings, and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly financial close: accurately analyze results, including variance analysis, in a timely manner
  • Provide ad hoc analysis of publishing and business trends
  • Assemble and summarize data, prepare reports, create presentations of findings, and make recommendations
  • Contribute to mergers and acquisition processes from acquisition to integration
  • Provide financial analysis on author acquisitions
  • Monitor policies and procedures in alignment with global company requirements
  • Partner with Center of Excellence teams and IT to project-manage process redesign opportunities
  • Help to define business requirements for identified technology solutions
  • Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Plus 2 years of experience as a Director, Finance position, job offered or related occupation
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and planning
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Excel, including model building and pivot tables
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience translating analytics and statistics to presentations and documents

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $148,387.00 to $160,000.00 per year
